Slow beginning of the week for me. I have been working on a discussion board for my instructional trends class and wanted to share this long, but very informative study on one of the roles an instructional designer can perform within a corporate organization. I have attached the PDF, but to sum the study up very briefly the instructional designer can play a pivotal role within a big or small corporate setting. The study identifies the significance of the designer with the ability to, "...mitigate the lack of internal design skills, and create solutions that a firm on its own could never attain” (Design Studies Vol 32 No. 1 January 2011). A huge role because the designer initially may be hired to solve what the company may see as a training problem, but the ID'er will use their skill set determine where the actual gaps lie within the company and propose a convincing educated solution to the companies problem.

I hope everyone can open the link. It took me a minute to figure out how to share the pdf from my desktop to my blogger...I ended up doing it through my Google+ account to Google docs. Any other suggestions on sharing on Google's Blogger?? Or on the role of the instructional designer in a corporate setting?
